The challenge consist out of 9 rounds, one round per month , from February till October
The Final will take place in November which will also serves as the annual year end function
Each player will be in charge of booking a round during the year
A player must play a minimum of two rounds in a year in order to be eligible for the next years challenge
Fixture dates will be set in advance and can ONLY be moved in the majority of players agrees with it
Game Rules
Mulligans and Whaa’s
Each player will be granted one “mulligan” and one “whaa” to be used in a round
“Whaa’s” can only be used if not disturbing other groups / players on the course
Snake
Each fourball will be presented with a snake
A player will be presented with the snake for each 3-putt made on a hole
In the event of two or more players achieving a 3-putt, the last player to complete his/her 3-putt will be awarded with the snake
Only putts on the green will be counted and not from the fringes or off the green
Each time the snake changes owner, it will increase R10 in value
The money from the snakes will be used in a kitty for the 19th hole
Normal R&A Golf Rules will apply to all games except for the following exceptions:
In the event of a lost ball where no provisional ball was played, a player may take a penalty drop at the spot where the ball was last seen or entered. This is merely to speed up play
Gimmies may be granted by the discretion of the players in the fourball but may not exceed 3 foot
Scoring
Scoring will be based on a players handicap at the time of the round commencement
In the event of a tie in stableford points, the rank will be decided by using countback
Players with no handicap will be assigned a competition handicap base on the following criteria:
Previously affiliated:
The players last known handicap index will be assigned and will be reduced in the following manner:
Winning a round – Handicap minus 3
Second in a round – Handicap minus 2
Third in a round – Handicap minus 1
Never been affiliated
A handicap index of 16 will be assigned and will be reduced in the following manner:
Winning a round – Handicap minus 3
Second in a round – Handicap minus 2
Third in a round – Handicap minus 1
Point System
Points will be awarded after each round againt the ranking achieved in that round which will count against the log / leadernoard
Bonus points will be awarder for several activities as mentioned below
The final will count towards the most points for the year which will enable all players to still complete until the end of the year:
Monthly Rounds:

3rd Place – 19 Points
4th Place – 13 Points
5th Place – 11 Points
6th Place – 10 Points
7th Place – 5 Points
8th Place – 4 Points
9th Place – 3 Points
10th Place – 2 Points
11th Place – 1 Points
Participation - 20 Points
Bonus Points
Bonus points will be awarded per round for the following:
Closest to Pin - 10 Points
Longest Drive - 10 Points
